Our Adelaide-based team are committed to ensuring the safety of our clients and offer an extensive list of services, including special hazards fire protection.
Sicada Fire & Safety was established in 1993 in Brisbane to make fire and safety compliance easier and provide cost effective, smart fire and safety solutions. Sicada Fire & Safety grew to service clients in the commercial, mining and resources and marine sector in the Hunter Valley in New South Wales, south-eastern Queensland and central Queensland.
In April 2023, ARA Fire acquired Sicada Fire & Safety which has helped ARA Fire establish a national footprint for the mobile fire suppression business.
Offering a range of fire and safety services, Sicada Fire & Safety’s success has grown from developing lasting relationships with our clients. Through a network of regional branches supported by our two main sites (Brisbane and Beresfield, near Newcastle, NSW), our technicians provide a fast response service as well as planned maintenance schedules.

Special hazards cover a broad spectrum of risks. Special hazards can be areas with a potentially explosive atmosphere but also includes any area containing equipment or processes of exceptionally high value, areas with irreplaceable assets or with revenue greater than the value of the equipment.
Special hazards are very wide ranging. A special hazard can be a building, an area, a room or a piece of equipment. Some examples of special hazards include power generation, manufacturing, telecommunications, machinery spaces, computer rooms, healthcare facilities, museums, archives, farming (silos) and many more. These areas are exceptionally challenging from a fire protection standpoint. The fire alarm and sprinkler systems we see every day may not be appropriate as the only line of defence and may require unique solutions.
