On the 3rd of April 2023 ARA Fire acquired Sicada Fire & Safety (Sicada). This acquisition has helped ARA Fire establish a national footprint for the mobile fire suppression business.

Sicada Fire & Safety was established in 1993 in Brisbane to make fire and safety compliance easier and provide cost effective, smart fire and safety solutions. Sicada Fire & Safety grew to service clients in the commercial, mining and resources and marine sector in the Hunter Valley in New South Wales, south-eastern Queensland and central Queensland. 

In April 2023, ARA Fire acquired Sicada Fire & Safety which has helped ARA Fire establish a national footprint for the mobile fire suppression business. 

Offering a range of fire and safety services, Sicada Fire & Safety’s success has grown from developing lasting relationships with our clients. Through a network of regional branches supported by our two main sites (Brisbane and Beresfield, near Newcastle, NSW), our technicians provide a fast response service as well as planned maintenance schedules.

Sicada is located in the Hunter Valley in New South Wales, South-eastern Queensland and Central Queensland. Combining Sicada with Fire Suppression Services in Western Australia and Sheridan Fire Solutions in Queensland, two other companies recently acquired by ARA, provides ARA Fire with a strong national footprint. This combined business will now trade as ARA Fire.

Sicada’s customer base aligns well with ARA Fire’s and is extensive and spans industrial/commercial businesses, both large and small. Also, the mining and resources sector, where fire and safety issues are magnified and through to the marine industry which has its own unique set of challenges associated with being off shore and a unique operating environment.

System development and design

The success of Sicada Fire & Safety has come from developing lasting relationships with our customers. This success has comlimented well with ARA Fire’s exsiting systems and process within the design and development of fire systems. Through understanding your business operating environment we can design and install systems and follow strict maintenance regimes including modifications or upgrades as the legislation or business environment dictate.

Fire and Safety Compliance

In 2012, the Australian Standard AS1851 covering the maintenance of fire protection equipment was completely revised and released as AS1851-(2012).

AS1851-(2012) aligns various previous standards into one consistent volume thus ensuring that all systems are serviced and maintained in a similar manner, importantly, where systems are interfaced it ensures no areas are left exposed.
